Byers Choice and Tis The Season are proud to introduce, Barbara, an Amish Bishop's wife".

This custom designed Byers Choice figure depicts the Amish of Holmes County Ohio. Berlin and the surrounding area is home to the largest settlement of Amish in the world. The bonnet and apron were locally made by ladies of the community. True to tradition, this lady carries nothing to the church services which are held in the homes of the church members.

You will not find this doll anywhere else in the world!

"Barbara is dedicated to the memories I have of my grandmother on my father's side. I was a small child when my Amish parents decided to leave the Amish faith. Because my parents were baptized members of the Amish church, they were shunned by the community as well as the family. My memories are rather vague. I remember the giant willow trees that stood in the yard at their home and when I see willow trees today I am reminded of my grandparents . . . "
